Just outside Båstad in Skåne, a gully in possession of a rare beauty adjoins the gardens of Norrviken, and here an art gallery has been placed as a convergence between art and culture. The architect of the building is Johan Celsing, who is currently involved with several prizewinning projects, including the Skogskyrkogården crematorium in Stockholm, the church in Årsta, Bonniers Konsthall, the extension of Millesgården and the Skissernas museum i Lund.
At Ravinen, the visitor will be able to enjoy the merging of tradition and renewal, retrospectives of artists living and dead, and exhibitions of contemporary art. The art gallery will be open to visitors almost every day of the year. Ravinen will be a building spread over 2000 square meters divided in two floors; with an entrance hall providing a shop and dining space, five exhibition rooms in various sizes and an auditorium seating 240 people. The possibility to hire rooms for meetings and conferences will also be available.
